The Process
Problem: Struvite
encrusted on perforated rollers of a belt filter
press. Struvite prohibits the dewatering ability of
perforated rollers and the overall productivity of
a belt filter press.

Story Behind
POLY-SUPPRESS:
We developed this product to have the same features as
POLY-GONE, but also to prevent struvite deposits from ever
occurring. We tested it for approximately six months in
Oceanside, California before bringing it to market. Since
then, it has proven itself time and time again on polymer
and struvite buildups on belt-filter presses across the
USA.
POLY-SUPPRESS had
to meet the following design:
- Perform as
well as POLY-GONE GOLD (20,000 to one dilution rate),
removing excessive polymer, fatty oils, and greases,
etc.
- Prevent
crystal agglomeration (struvite).
- Gradually
remove existing growth
Step
1:
We used our product WASH-UP to clean the press. After 30
days, there was still new mineral growth on the perforated
rollers.

Step
2:
We introduced POLY-SUPPRESS to clean the belts of the press.
A set of misting nozzles was tapped into the wash water to
provide free rinsing of the perferated rollers. The results
were astounding. We had zero struvite growth!
Step
3:
Our mechanical contractors developed and custom fit a mist
nozzle rack. It is mounted to the framework of the press
with the use of beam clamps. We chose this option instead of
drilling or welding. Our purpose was to not damage the
structural integrity of the press.

Best
Option:
Many facilities have opted to use only POLY-SUPPRESS, due to
the corrosive nature of WASH-UP.
- Removal time
is increased, slow & easy removal
- No opportunity
for large particulates to clog filtrate lines.
- Safe, Easy,
Effective.
